Fertomid is utilized to trigger ovulation (the production of eggs). It enhances the likelihood of conception in women facing difficulties in becoming pregnant. Its action is comparable to estrogen, a female hormone that stimulates the development and release of eggs from the ovaries. Typically, it is taken once daily for five days, beginning on the fifth day of the menstrual cycle. Women without regular menstrual cycles can start taking it on any suitable day. Be sure to adhere to the instructions on your prescription label closely, and consult your doctor if there is anything you do not understand. Take Fertomid precisely as prescribed. Avoid taking more or less than what your doctor has recommended.
Fertomid may lead to side effects. Inform your doctor if any of the following side effects are severe or persist: flushing, upset stomach, vomiting, ovarian enlargement, headache, unusual vaginal bleeding, or abdominal pain.
Before starting Fertomid: Notify your doctor if you are allergic to Fertomid or any other medications. Inform your doctor of all medications you are currently taking. Disclose any history of abnormal vaginal bleeding, liver disease, uterine fibroids, pituitary tumors, adrenal disease, or thyroid or ovarian cysts to your doctor. Also, let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you become pregnant while using Fertomid, contact your doctor immediately.
Fertomid may cause blurred vision. Refrain from driving or operating machinery until you understand how this medication affects you.
Fertomid increases the likelihood of multiple pregnancies (such as twins or triplets). Discuss with your doctor the potential risks associated with multiple pregnancies.
